White and Denim

Another back log. A few months ago we had a spontaneous family pictorial. And since we've done red so many times before especially on Birthdays, Christmas and New Years; we went for a classic--White (and Denim, haha--it was late notice and my brother and sister-in-law doesn't live here). Here's what I wore:

You can judge by my hair length that this in fact is a long over due post. Sorry! haha.
Metro Dept Store Top and Shorts, Parisian Flats, Forever 21 Necklace, Terranova Bangles, SM Dept Store Gold Belt
Family Pictorial
Here are the pictures, incomplete because we just decided on the day, but close enough, haha!

Care For Some Tea?

Hello there! So as mentioned in my last post, I was busy Coordinating events. Last month, I had my last event for the year (last, to focus on school), a Debut with an Alice in Wonderland theme. As coordinators, Andrea and I want to put personalized details, otherwise, it'll look too stiff and corporate; so when the debutant wanted Teacup Candles for her 18 candles, then Teacup Candles she shall get. And since I don't know where to find a supplier in time, I made them myself! Here's a short DIY on how I did it.
What you need:
-Teacup and Saucer (They chose a plain one because I used colorful waxes (and its hard to find 18 uniform vintage ones), but an old vintage one with floral details is really cute, too!)
-Candle waxes (usually sold by blocks or flakes) or just Candles and get the wicks.
-Wicks (you may use the ones in the candle like what I did)
Not in the picture:
-Chopsticks
-A Double Boiler and Bowl OR a Pot and a Thick Can or an Ice Bucket.
-A Stove
-To color if you have white waxes, use an Oil-based coloring (not water!) or crayons!
Procedure:
So I'm not gonna do a step by step because I lack too much pistures (haha) but basically, what you is boil water in your pot and put the bowl/ice bucket over it. Wait for it to melt, while waiting, get you wick and chopsticks and place it like so (picture below). Chopsticks are so useful! haha.
Then get the ice bucket (make sure you use mittens! They're hot!) and pour the wax into your teacup. And wait for it to cool down. In case you are wondering what the measuring tape is for, its to get the dimensions of the cup and saucer to know how big the box I was gonna buy. :)
Here are the "Product Shots" once they're all done!
So there you go, Teacup Candles! And if you're following me on Instagram, then you might have seen the a Flipgram of the debut, if not, you can check it out here or here's a couple of pictures for you.
Our #ootd with our Black & White Mesh Dresses and opposite sandals. Comfy enough to run around without sacrificing fashion and the theme. We're Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!
Some graphic materials Andrea designed for the debutant. Another personalized touch we love doing!

The Coterie

image
I've been mentioning Coterie a few times in my last post, so I'm gonna introduce you guys to it. Welcome to Coterie!
image
The Coterie is a store owned by Jehanne Dy, a young entrepreneur and fresh architecture graduate. The store opened last December 18 at the 2nd floor of One Pavilion Mall, R. Duterte St., Banawa, Cebu City. The Coterie is a designer's boutique, what's that you asked? A designer's boutique is a designer's office and a boutique at once! As its name in French means, a small, often select group of persons who associate with one another frequently. And Fashion's what brought all these people together.

As some of you guys know, I, too, own an online shop--@love_elevenshop on instagram. Well, my partner and I decided to invest here at The Coterie. We have a rack section where our designs and some RTWs are available!

Aside from Designer clothes and RTWs, UNIQLO, Hong Kong Disneeyland items and more fun items (butingtings) are also available. It is definitely a one stop shop! Not to mention, the items are quite affordable!

Fashion Resolutions

image
2014 is just around the corner and I notice that people aren't making resolutions, they say it's too mainstream and people don't really fulfill these resolutions anyway. Well, I want to make a few fashion resolutions.
1. More Maxis! I just looove them! So elegant with such little effort.
2. More White staples for my closet. I have too much black that this Christmas season, all I've been wearing is black *gasp* haha
3. More Gold (definitely)! accessories like bags, shoes, belts, jewelry :)
4. Buy new set of jeans for school, almost all my jeans are loose and baggy :( I lost some weight (like whats left of me, right?) due to stress with organizations (I'm currently the president of the Architecture org in our school), work, business, and studies.
5. Keep my closet organized! :P

Little Red Riding Hood X Big Bad Wolf

I'm not big on the dressing up as ghouls thing, but I do love dressing up! Apparently so does Cebu! It was a really awesome sight to see everyone dress up on the streets of Banilad and IT park as Cebuanos partied the night away in their Halloween outfits! Here's mine:
Prepared this outfit just the night before, quickly sewed this cape/hood by myself (yey me!). And we--JACK and +1s--went out together that night:)
And of course I had to have my big bad wolfie with me <3 br="" data-mce-bogus="1">
How's my interpretation of Red Riding Hood's outfit?

Dolphin Shorts

Dolphin Shorts is a very cute old school trend that's making a comeback in fashion today--and I am so in love with it!:> It was over used during my trip last week, you'll see. A quick #ootd in my brother's balcony before I conquer Boracay alone, more of that in my next post.
Metro Dept Store Corset, Love Eleven Shop Shorts, Bobson Polo, Havaianas Flip Flops
The original outfit was this without my borther's polo, but I was too shy, hahaha so yeah, a cover-up was called for:)
What do you think?
